Founded by Lauren Templeton in 2016, Amelia Art Studio offers small-group instruction in drawing, painting, ceramics, and mixed media for artists of all ages. Private lessons are also available to provide personalized guidance and support.
At Amelia Art Studio, artists come to build skills, refine techniques, and participate in meaningful opportunities to exhibit their work throughout the community. With a strong focus on Arts Integration and Art History, our teaching approach reinforces the formal elements of art, the foundational principles of design, and, most importantly, cultivates a lifelong love of art-making. And yes – our classes are a lot of fun!
Thanks to enthusiastic feedback from parents, who were thrilled with the quality of programming for their children, we expanded in 2024 to include classes, workshops, and private lessons designed just for adults. Whether you’re just beginning your creative journey or looking to take your practice to the next level, Amelia Art Studio offers a warm, inspiring space to explore, create and discover.

Every great artist needs to start with the basics of drawing.
Our art lessons are based on teaching the foundational elements of art.
We infuse Art History into our projects. We take inspiration from ancient art to contemporary artists.
Artists explore pictorial methods of painting as well as abstract painting. We teach a wide variety of paint media.
Young artists love working with clay. This medium is a great way to teach dimensional and sculptural art.
We love to mix things up with art media – from collage to printmaking to sculpture, our curriculum is comprehensive.
Our daughter has truly loved spending the last couple of months with all of you and has learned a ton! Thank you for offering some classes geared toward high school students. Your distinguished studio and high quality teaching and class offerings are a gem to this community and I am so happy we found you! Thank you for everything!!
We did a toddler art class this morning with Lauren and it was excellent. She had our little one engaged the entire time with stories, art projects, and even a little Spanish/French lesson thrown in. We can’t wait for the next art class!

We love Amelia Art Studio. This has been our third year attending their summer camp, and I am blown away each time! The art they bring home is creative and thoughtful, the staff is encouraging and attentive, and we look forward to it each summer. I know it is somewhere I can send my son for him to have fun, learn and be safe! It has been one of the best experiences on the island!
I cannot say enough positive things about Amelia Art Studio and the owner, Lauren Templeton. For the past two years, my boys have been attending her art classes and camps. I am in awe of all the knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm for creating art the staff have instilled in my children. The projects they create and curriculum they cover is incredibly creative. Both my daughter’s aged 12 and 13 took summer classes. Both of my girls are homeschooled. And I’ll be honest, I’m very particular in what I allow my girls to partake in. After speaking with Lauren, I knew this was going to be great! My girls had a great time and thier teacher was so much fun, according to them. Oh, yeah, the art was even better!! We want you all to know how much our son loved Summer Art Camp. Lauren, the owner of the studio, is a very knowledgeable, caring and experienced person who leads a group of friendly and caring team members. During camp our son explored his creativity and produced beautiful art which we will treasure forever. We highly recommend art camps for children that would love to have fun while exploring their creativity and learning new art skills. We wish there had been a program such as this when we were young. So much appreciation.
We have been attending Amelia Art Studio since we moved here 3 years ago and it has always been a wonderful experience for my child. Lauren and Stephanie are incredible and always come up with interesting projects that are age appropriate!

Not only has my daughter been attending art classes here for 3 years and LOVES them, they hosted an adult session that taught Sumi-e painting. It made me so happy to wake that creative side of myself back up! If you have kids that love art, sign them up. You won’t regret it because each week you will see how much they grow as they learn new forms of art. The staff truly shines bright and you feel it whether you’re the student or your child is.
Miss Lauren is a truly gifted educator and you 100% get your money’s worth! The Mommy + Me toddler class is truly amazing enrichment with motor skills we can practice all week. Our son missed 2 weeks of class and she assembled & saved all the art projects for us to take home and do together.
Lauren and her staff are great. They teach art concepts in a very fun and simple way for young kids. They are great with kids in general and I really appreciate their patience and creativity. Thank you Lauren and staff for making art education such a priority and being awesome.

Best art classes on the island for kids! Love the way she incorporates art history as well as learning exciting techniques/terminology for any age. Staff is very great with kids and very professional.
I did a class with my two year old, he enjoyed it as did I. It took me over a month to pick up his work but miss Lauren was very flexible and professional.
