Get your creativity flowing in our fun, hands-on ceramics class! Perfect for all skill levels. We’ll dive into the art of hand-building: think pinch pots, coil creations, and slab sculptures – while bringing your ideas to life. Plus, you’ll have access to our kiln to fire up your masterpiece and make them truly shine!
**A special note about attendance: You are given 6 classes in which to complete a finished piece of greenware (dried, unfired clay). This flexibility allows for you to attend only as many classes as you need, and the twice-weekly schedule provides you more control over the drying process, and no issues with absences. Keep in mind, however, that deadlines are in place for kiln firing, hence the two weeks with NO CLASSES. This time allows for complete drying and kiln-firing. The last week of two classes is reserved for glazing. The scheduled dates for the kiln firings (the first for greenware, the second after glazing) are set, and will take place regardless of the artist’s readiness of a piece. Because it is our goal to provide every opportunity for the artist to create a piece of which they are proud, we strongly encourage you to understand the schedule for each class. Click here to see the schedule on our Calendar page.
Session A: Delicious Dish. This open-studio style class invites artists to come and go as needed while developing their ceramic projects. The course introduces hand-building basics and techniques, with the option to follow a demonstration of creating a decorative plate filled with sculpted, delicious foods. Artists may also work on an approved independent project.
Session B: Bowl Friend. Same format as Session A, but the featured demonstration focuses on building a vessel with a whimsical accessory or creature perched on the side.
Artists can create as many pieces as their allotted clay amount allows, refining and sculpting each class. All work must be completed by the drying deadline – two weeks before glazing begins (see Calendar under the News tab for class days).
Glazed item pickup will occur during designated times after the class concludes.
*Must purchase both Session A and Session B of the exact same class at the same time to receive discount. You will have to add each session to your cart individually. Discount will apply automatically. Offer expires 8/18/25. No discount if you buy one session and decide later to purchase a second session. NO EXCEPTIONS.
